Lockdown Relief 2021

When Melbourne hit months of Stage 4 Lockdown, COOK4CALD volunteers stepped up and provided Emergency Food Relief for 9 consistent weeks to the local community.

While Melbourne experienced hardship, we couldn’t sit by without doing what we do best.

From August to October 2021, COOK4CALD successfully ran a 9 week Food Relief program that successfully served 1596 meals for Melbourne’s South East.

Prepared and Delivered by Youth.

Each week, a generous team of volunteers dedicated their Sunday mornings in Lockdown. With the strict COVID-19 protocols in place, COOK4CALD managed to navigate our way to successfully feeding so many families in need. Every week was planned within days, really showcasing how passion and teamwork is all you need to get the job done.

“During the lockdown relief program, I loved volunteering with C4C to support those in our local community. It was great to meet new people and combine my passion for cooking and helping others. The recipes were easy to follow and the meals smelt delicious. Everyone in the kitchen was always very inclusive and relaxed and it was great to meet more like-minded people that want to make a difference.”
